Sometimes you just can't hide.
Stairs of Bone

The creatures eye scanned with a piercing glare.
The Demon slowly stood up from its throne.
I froze, my shadow in view of its stare.
The horned fiend walked down steps it made of bone.
To sounds of screams; their sins they would atone.
Then with my hand I would hush my own cries.
I hid in darkness while beast gave a groan.
So desperate, tried to taunt me with its lies.
"I'll take you to a place where no one dies."
Then some fell victim, they were dragged to hell.
It turned them into giant clouds of flies.
Again alive a time before they fell.
Then I thought I’d escaped from stinging burn.
Snatched up by the Demon, "Is it not your turn?"
