Like Kermit said, it's not easy being green
Verdigris

Jealousy runs rancid
With objects never grasped
A question never answered,
A question never asked
Answers missed, we lament
The toys we never bought
Now other people's presents
With lessons never taught
With nothing learned in practice
On paper, folded dreams
An origami lattice
Creased within a scheme
Creases we can't flatten
Kinks won't iron out
In ridges down, we're battened
Buried with our doubt
Beaten in the darkness
Afraid to see the light
Bruised envy green, regardless
A dour blue insight
Imagined 'neath the veil
A picture perfect face
Cradled, framed in Braille
In another time and place
When something truly matters
It's hard to take that stand
When some one truly flatters
Despite our paltry hand
So green, we don't take chances
So blue... it is our fate
Ask some questions, get some answers
... before it is too late
