Written some two months after the death of my beloved wife.
I Think of You All the Time

I think of you all the time. You... and me… and the kids;
The way we used to laugh at each other… and ourselves… and them.
Those were such happy times… memories loved… cherished;
Guarded fiercely… like a dragon with his gold… so the years don’t steal them away.

So long ago yet so near in my heart… so near… our hearts… our love;
Through the corridors of time I can hear your smile… so precious… so treasured… so sacred… calling.
“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened”… I cry because it’s over… for a while… a moment.
I smile because we happened… and it’s only for a little while… a moment…
