late night poem.
and so i said goodbye that night
but not really meant it.

we were both so hard headed that no one wanted to try.
and so i prayed every night that you would call
or make an attempt at redemption
but the call never came and i felt betrayed.

i wanted it to work,
i needed it to work
for once it felt so right and it destroyed me when it ended in a fight.

i miss the nights when we could talk for hours and fall asleep intertwined
or listen to songs in your car and ended the night with foggy windows.
it felt like a forever, it only continued.

but i said goodbye to all of it
because it felt right.
although the love is there, ill try to forget.
the only remedy is, a lit up cigarette.
