A poem of the what ifs
Maybe if my heart stopped
It would no longer break
Maybe if my thoughts ceased
My head would no longer ache
Maybe if my lungs would no longer work
The pain would finally disappear
I would no longer hurt
Maybe if I no longer cried
I wouldn't feel a thing
My emotions would die
Maybe if I pretend to be okay
I'll get through this life
And make it there someday.
