Promptly Potter. Day Seventeen.
Sticks and stone may break my bones
But cruel words can cut deep
The man with two faces knows how
And he can do it without a peep

He knows just what I need to hear
And he knows it all too well
He'll tell me that he loves me
He tells me to go to hell

He looks me deep in the eyes
But he won't look at me for weeks
Sometimes he lavishes me with kindness
Sometimes he won't even speak

He strikes me in the ribs and tells me it's a joke
He tells me that he's sorry, and I believe him
He tells me exactly when it's my fault
But I can't tell what's real or what's his whim

The man with two faces knows exactly who he is
He tells me what I should be instead
The man with two faces knows what he's doing
And I know if I don't leave I'll end up dead
