Just a little fiction, written on a whim.
A soldier came home. In war he fought proudly. For a country he died. His body was cleaned. His eyes were closed. A final farewell was all that remained. A coffin sat bare, with his body enclosed. He would forever sleep beneath the ground so cold. Memories remind the mourners of one who gave his all for the country he loved. His family shed tears as the colors were raised. They honored his service and all that he gave. The coffin was lowered into the grave. The mourners departed to walk in their pain.
