Why are we afraid to love the ones who truly love us back?
Oh my darling,

I have lifted the anchor

Raised the sail

And I ride the waves through the meaningless days

That unseemly blend as one

Wondering why our love crashed upon the shore

Oh my darling,

Yesterday we said we'd run away

Yet today you continue to drift away in another's arms

So I watch home become a distant horizon

Not knowing if tomorrow will be better than today

As today was worse than yesterday

Oh my darling,

Oceans won't change the way my heart beats for you

So here I lay in this vast unknown

Amongst the stars that don't shine as bright as your eyes

Praying that you'll return to me

Knowing that the waves that crash upon the shore

Will once again return to the sea
