Poetry Descriptions Are Pointless
Something tugs my center
A glowing string pulled taught.
I pluck at the chord, and it thrums through me
A delicate vibration singing in my blood-
A song of stars.
I follow it, gently coiling as I go
Wrapping it safe around my heart.
I follow its winding path wherever it leads,
Traveling the Earth, not knowing what I seek.
I see the sand-barren deserts scorching with heat,
And the winter-white peaks, frozen lives they keep.
I cross humid green jungles, many dangers I face,
Losing hope, growing weary, I stumble on my way.
Til finally-Finally!
I come to a wide grassy field
The sky touching the Earth
The stars are bright, colored clusters
Within my grasp if I just reach...
Galaxies swirl within my eyes.
My soul sings into the night-wind
It knows it has come home.
Then I see you
Your own string clutched in your grasp.
Our eyes meet, and in the dark depths of yours
I see the Universe.
Four steps between us,
We move in time, a subtle dance of atoms
Magnets moving in sync
And our two halves become complete.
