A poem about the difficulty of relationships.
I’ve worked all day, worked all night
Labored hard, labored long
Come home to you, come home tired
You make me smile, make me strong

I show my feelings, good and bad
I hold you tight, I hold you high
You give sweet aura, but sour taste
I’ll prove myself, until I die

Passion making, passion lost
I feel enchanted, you feel bored
I know you love me, I know you try
Your passion’s low, like it’s a chore

Is it indifference? Is it that tough?
Like my hard work is not enough
To make you happy, to make you care
What must I do to make it fair?

What is wrong? What is right?
Must I work harder to keep things bright?
I bring home food, I bring home money
But don’t feel love when I call you honey

You’ve made me happy, and you still do
For better, worse, foolish or fateful
Don’t wanna leave you, pray you won’t leave me
If I work harder, will you be grateful?

My love is physical, yours is mental
Your games are rough, your games of fear
Fear of letdowns, fear of failure
The darkened road in which we steer

Pray fate will guide us to a better day
When we show desire, when we are safe
To show we care, without remorse
The day my labor keeps love awake

I’ve worked all day, worked all night
Labored hard, labored long
Love you forever, I’ll do my part
The time has come, we won’t go wrong
