The narrator suffers from a special kind of loneliness.
I shall touch no one but you,
yet you I may not touch.

None shall touch of me,
but touch me you will not.

I shall love no one but you,
yet you demean me when I do.

Loneliness is sad enough,
when I truly am alone.

But feeling alone when I am not
is the bitterest cold I know.
