My hearts brief lament
If I could but sound my thoughts across the distance,
I might yet attempt my pay of penance.
If I could revisit the chasms of wretched grief,
I'd urge the tears to deluge for my reprieve.
If I could sanction your perusal of my concealed core,
I'd then enable you to love me more.

If I could see old friends of faded and folded memories,
I'd insert increased pleasantness in our stories,
I'd embrace and beseech,
I'd apologise and remain within reach.
If I could take us back through my days,
I'd let you reason and accept my hardened ways.

If I could change the manner of my living,
I'd persist only to increase in giving,
I'd let it be known that I lived to be right,
If I could but ascertain it on the final ascension to Light,
I could then ease my soul before His sight.
