Metro takes us down and around and we end up transforming into beasts
The Metro was efficient and surprisingly clean and free of garbage and indigent people. Most of the people were going about their day, busy looking at their phones or staring blankly at nothing. Some were sleeping. The thudding and screeching of the wheels on the tracks broke the tense silence produced by packing strangers together.

The next stop was ten minutes away. The car we were in careened downward and the lights flickered and dimmed before going out altogether. I grasped my bag closer to my body and shifted away from the aisle and towards the door. Better safe than stolen.

The lights came on and I blinked at the scene before me. I was alone. The lady with the
