I have always been fascinated by the power of nature to move us.
First the wind fans me,
Moving over the meadow
Up the slope.

Telling me to face the sun,
And leave the shadows behind.

Next the wind lifts me,
Filling my parts with lightness,
Showing me the earth from above.

Telling me to move on,
Keep on the path.

Finally the wind lowers me
Roughly at first, like a lumbering giant,
Then gently.

Telling me to touch the ground.
Leveling me, grounding me.

Next the rain washes over me,
Smoothing the soiled surface,
Quenching my parts with its languid liquid.

Whispering hope,
Telling me to look inward.

Then the rain and wind leave me,
Wandering and wondering.
