A poem inspired by the "In Your Arms" Prompt and how i met my husband.
Every day the same offer made
by the woman who loved more
then life itself your mother who
never ceased her laments about
you and how wonderful a couple
we could become
I didn't want to know your name
or if you were the kindest man
around I was done with the viscous
dating game and all the heartbreak
it had wrought me I didn't want
to build up hope again and watch
them crumble to dust
You're mom was a fighter though
and refused to take no for an answer
so finally we caved and picked up our
phones both dreading the awkward hellos
and silences that would ensue
how very wrong we both had been
We talked for hours which turned into
weeks and then become months as we
grew closer my heart slowly turned to you
and before either of us could stop it
our hearts called for each other
Not once have i looked back in regret
you are my greatest love story
