Fantasy

Let’s take to the sky,
Throttle in hand,
I’ll circle and climb
Skirting over land.

Whoosh, there I go
To the wild blue yonder
Skimming and whizzing
And swooping, I’ll wander.

So far up above,
Floating on air,
Gliding past moonbeams
Without any care.

Is this just a dream?
How’d I get here?
It just seems so strange!
But, I have no fear!

Take offs and touch downs,
Maneuvering slow,
Barnstorming, zipping
And buzzing, I’ll go.

The ground is a quilt!
Look way down there,
Highways and byways
Outlining each square.

Through rainbows, I dive.
I soar and I spin;
Clouds come and go.
What is this, I’m in?

Did I just pass Venus?
Or perhaps Mars?
If I keep on going,
I’ll reach the stars!
