ending of life

Late in the moonlight
when a wolf is all alone
When death is near
and little meat on his bone

He remembers the old days
when his pack kept him fed
Tended to his wounds
when he was nearly dead

He lifts his eyes to
Great Spirit asking to go home
where beautiful forests
are still there to happily roam
