the beautiful nature of spring
foraging

ah! sweet spring,
surround me with dancing dandelions,
the bringer of bees.

wind me up
like a fiddlehead
to unfurl across the earth
as wild leeks soak in the sun
not yet demanded by trees.

musky mud after the rain
seeps between my toes
and next to me, morels,
creating new life of the elm.

the morning dove,
the whippoorwill,
their shrill voices announce
the sun to the east
and the sun to the west.

sing me
out of my winter slumber
and let us fly.

lift me like the winds of april
and fill my lungs
with the scent of
apple blossoms and daffodils.

let us begin our adventure.
