Emmett Verse

An elder struggles to rise,
Elder resigned to his withered kind,
Struggles, Yet still declines
To cry, "Mercy!" with drying eyes,
Rise Up! 'Til flesh and earth entwine.

Emmett: The first line contains five words which become the first word of each following line in sequence. In addition, there is a rhyme scheme of a,b,b,a,b.
