A poem that touches on the pain inflicted by war.
God created a world for us, we created countries separated by borders.
To most people they are just soldiers, but before that they are sons and daughters.
Where they once stood with their families, now they lay in coffins.
No amount of money could put a smile on the face of all those orphans.

The families of the deceased suffer in agonising silence,
lives are torn apart, children are left without guidance.
Blood shed by fighters for a country buried in corruption,
we’re with you during this time of hardship, lies the politician.

Weapons wouldn’t kill, if there was no one to wield them.
The wounded lay in puddles of blood, their cries lost in the mayhem.
Killing each other for arrogant leaders, who sit and watch from their throne.
In some desolate corner of the world, a child weeps by her fathers gravestone.
