A poem of a couple's night out at the movies. For the Writer's Cramp contest. 28 Lines.
You don't have to cook tonight.
Popcorn, soda and candy,
All anyone should need.
The movie will soon be showing.
C'mon! We've got to leave!

Grab your coat, your hat.
Don't forget your purse.
I'll have us there in no time.
'Til then, let us converse.

It's Friday night.
Both a long days worth of work.
We're headed out to see a show.
We'll have treats there,
as our stomach go berserk.

We laugh at our vocal hunger,
And into line we stand.
I slide my card and soon,
Tickets are in hand.

Next line...
Maybe we should've wined and dined?
But this treat we do deserve!
A week of work and household chores.
A break is due our time.

The show is on.
Popcorn, buttery warm.
Our attention is not what was on our minds.
Sit back and relax, enjoy our snacks.
Baby, you don't have to cook tonight.
