An expression of my feelings, as I sip my morning coffee during a 'LockDown'
I sit here penning my thoughts next to a window.
Suddenly time has stopped, as normalcy takes a big blow.
The morning coffee tastes even better than ever.
Meanwhile, the country asks me to be braver.
An unprecedented situation unfolds itself,
but I have things to do and books on my shelf.
The apartment ceiling's high, so I can skip rope.
I can work from home, technology provides the scope.
listen to music, shake a leg or tap my feet.
It seems like my mouth is forever ready to eat.
So much free time, I daydream staring at the floor,
wondering what else does life has in store.
The birds are happy, and pollution levels are low.
My city never sleeps they said, little did they know.
I miss my office, my colleagues and the freedom to step out,
but this lockdown is necessary as we enter a bout,
with an enemy that can't be seen, worst, it multiplies.
There is panic everywhere and people looking for supplies
My old Grannie is happy to see me more often.
As we patiently wait, nature has hit the reset button.
Against the human spirit, this foe is of no match.
It will subdue and eventually die, provided we avoid its catch.
