Sensuality

The water roared past us in the strong flowing river.
Apples that covered the ground were slowly buried by floating leaves of brown and gold.
The forest was alive with activity, but we were the only ones who didn’t notice.
As he ran his fingers through my tangled wheaten hair,
He whispered sweet nothings in my ear.
Two dreaming lovers locked as one, the picnic blanket became
More and more wrinkled with each passing movement.
I looked in my love’s eyes.
In the early dusk, they looked violet, like the oncoming sunset.
I started to breathe deeply as he moved his body over my smooth, white skin.
Our expression of love continued long after the sun
Fell and crickets started playing their midnight melody.
