It is my mum's birthday today so I thought I'd write a poem as a gift, hope she likes it.
To my mum,

You gave me life for this I'm thankful,
I know when I was younger, at times I've been a handful.
You've been a beacon of light near and at the moment from afar,
I'll always be proud of who you are.

The kindness you hold for others in your heart, is a gift to cherish in no small part, your smile lights up a room before you enter to others around you, your energy radiates to the rooms centre,
You held my hand and watched me grow, through good and bad until you had to let go.

On your birthday I want to say, thank you.
Without you I'm sure I wouldn't be, the strong willed but humble woman I am today. I miss seeing you but I know the score and soon we will meet up again I hope at least once more. I couldn't afford a lovely gift, so please accept this poem I wrote you instead, I hope it brightens your day and gives you a lift.

Happy Birthday to my beautiful Mum, I hope it's all you could want and more because you really are the bomb.
I love you now and always will, have a beautiful day and put your feet up and chill.
