A fun look at trust and what is the price to find out if someone is worth the cost.
I see a man in the mirror, although, I could be metamorphic
I could be suffering from a condition called Reverse Gender Dysmorphic
I see a man, but everyone else sees a bitch
I'm not playing for the Red Sox, so there's no need to make a pitch

I know that I am not really the best-looking roster
And it would be good to take it as a giant morale booster
I truly wish it was a case of pure sexual attraction
Instead of being a case of material or financial extraction

I think there could be a sign on my back that reads “He is a sucker”
Or maybe they just think I am a gullible motherfucker
Either way, it follows me wherever the hell I go
I'll hear the words “Hey have you got any money I can borrow?”

It's obvious the answer to this question should always be...."NO!"
But it's a small price to pay in order to find out if they're friend or foe
But even that has come adrift because there's bigger fish to fry
The smart ones will gain my trust before they hang me out to dry

Please, don't get me wrong, there are those who I can trust
But they're few and far between and time to prove it is a must
I know at the end of the day, we all have our price
But, to take advantage of someone's generosity, is not very nice

I think it's a balancing act and one that has to be made
An investment in a person's character, that simply must be paid
But the return is something priceless and worth every cent I’ve lost
Because the value of a friendship with trust is always worth the cost
