Impressions of the Southwest
Mather Point
Ground fails. Earth plummets.
Electric blue sky, deep red cliffs.
Color, cloud shadows dancing.

Bright Angel Campground
Sky fades: blue, pink, black.
Cliffs loom red, blood-black: hushed dusk.
Gray shades swoop. Bats feast.

Chaco
Coyote yowlp. Answered.
Luminous marble moon climbs
Crystal desert night.
