thoughts on an attempt to stay in the moment
I needed to distract myself from the moment.
I could feel tears threatening.
But it wasn't the place.
Or the time.
Instead I searched and wracked my brain.
What do you see.
What do you feel.
What do you hear.

It's so quiet. The light is beautiful.
It's frigid outside, but we are the perfect temperature.
Your leg overtop of mine. My fingers mapping your skin.
This moment will end too soon.
I shelve the anxiety.
Frustrated by my fractures.
