A bit of light and a bit of color. A poem.
I wasn’t prepared for what I’ve witnessed;
A spectrum of color like heaven’s projection.
Shocked me into a joyful submission,
That dragged me from my weeks-long depression.

The light bounced from a piece of jewelry.
Not authentic metal, still very pretty.
I remember it as a close friend’s piece,
Who was like an older sister to me

I’ve felt mute for what seems to be forever,
Has only been a year, but it still hurts.
All of my cries came out as whispers.
As I try to deal with the pain that I’ve suffered.

I attempted to think about anything,
Anything relevant to absolutely everything.
It seems as though it now makes me sad
That it all had no purpose or need.

So, I wasn’t prepared for what I’ve witnessed;
A spectrum of color like heaven’s projection.
Shocked me into joyful submission,
That dragged me from my weeks-long depression.
