I never thought I'd ever had to fall in fear for my personal survival.
to be free... in "The United States of America, in my own city, my own neighborhood.

Perhaps if I understood
why this even was allowed to happen
to my neighborhood
leaving hundreds deeply saddened.

I've seen the good men turn bad
and the bad men turn worse
happy people turn sad
it's like I'm living under
a vicious curse!

I already live in a pre-coffin box
a room I wish had more locks.
Some kind of safety net for me,
not one person seems to agree.
The disabled and elderly
deserve no protection
nor given any direction.

Those who can't defend themselves
others shunned them
placed them on top shelves.
They're out of mind, out of sight
doesn't matter they're alone,
filled with fright
they simply don't matter
is what they've been shone.
