Sam Adams looks at flowers with regret for Say It in Eight Contest
Sam Adams looked at the field
Of wildflowers near his house
In the “World Peace Forest”.
He saw the purple hyacinth
And was soon filled with regret
Over all the things he had not done
In his 66 years around the sun.
Wondering if there was still time.

Author's note: the "world Peace Forest" is next to my apartment, five miles of trails through a forest, includes a lake and a small mountain that I go to almost every day. There are deer, wild pigs (only head them) feral cats, birds, occasional squirrels, turtles, frogs, snakes and I once saw a dead badger and a live fox. .
