Dreams Fulfilled for Writer's Cramp
Dreams Fulfilled

35

Sam Adams
On his 18th birthday
Had the dream
That shaped his life

She came to him
In a high school class
He fell asleep
And saw her there

He yelled out
Who are you
And there was nothing
But silence

Later that night
He went to his best friend’s house
To celebrate his birthday
Which his parents had forgotten

He told his friend’s parents
The dream
They told him
That it would come to pass

On thanksgiving day
He broke a turkey wishbone
And dream that night
Again of his dream girl.

He would often wish
upon a star

Or thrown lucky coins toss
In a wishing fountain

Eight years later
She walked out
Of his dreams
Into his life

And that is the rest
Of this story
Of dreams fulfilled.
