Chapter 1: Prologue

         There are exactly 34 cracks in my ceiling. I count them every morning and every night. This morning is no different. I awaken, count the cracks, brush my teeth, get dressed, and finally I put on my mask. My mask is the most important thing. It denotes my status in society. I walk to work. When I finally clock in, I begin my job. I work at A&R Solutions, an internet company.
