I swear it is true.

As I sat among the trees
and splendored at their awe
you will never, ever believe
what I thought I saw

There was a family of blackbirds
walking through the grass
one turned to the other and spoke
now we've got class

There was a father bird
in a denim suit
the mother wore a gingham dress
which was so very cute

They were pushing a baby carriage
with two baby birds inside
as they passed beside me
both the children cried

They seemed to be headed somewhere
I'm sure they'll be there soon
and as the sunlight faded
they vanished with the moon
