A two part piece I wrote when I was going to work for the first time after having Nelida.
Separation:

The fear I feel inside my being is no ordinary fear

The pain I feel goes right to the core of my heart

Dreadful thoughts invade my mind never to disintegrate at least not today.

I try to smile and find I can but it does not reach my eyes

I try to laugh and I do but the laughter does not warm my soul

I know I cannot hide my feeling for those around me know I am sad

The thought of losing you is so great, too great to comprehend

The idea that you may be hurt is unthinkable to me

Coming Home:

Now, there is one more.

One more who loves you and will love you more and more always

One more who depends on you for life, and will depend on you for life

One more who is the most important to you as you are to her

One more person who is sure to never leave you

One more person who is not only a part of your life as you are hers

But who is a part of you as you are a part of hers Always.

She does not yet know the loving, caring, beautiful person that you are

Your new Baby Girl awaits the wonderful Vision that is her Mother's face with bated breath and tiny open arms.
