The Message

The Message

39

Jason Lee was a local gadfly
Fully into the Q cult mode
A true believer.

He got into a lot of hot water
When he launched a crusade
Against his local bank

Accusing them of being in the league
With drug-dealers
and space-shifting aliens.

The bank directors were not amused
But were alarmed that he had somehow
Found out the truth

They were indeed shape-shifting lizard people
Part of a large conspiracy
taking over corporations, and governments.

They decided to wipe out his accounts
Making it impossible for him to continue
Spreading his pernicious, but true statements.

Jason went to his usual bar
Found all of his accounts were frozen
Found his ATM had no money it
.
He went back in and complained.
The bartender had gotten a message
He was a dangerous terrorist

He called the cops
Who arrived in full SWAT mode
Taking into custody

All sorts of evidence
Mostly fake appeared
All over the internet and the news.

But some true stories too,
As Jason had some skeletons
In his closet so to speak.

Then he disappeared
Into a black hole
Never to be seen again.

People who asked questions
Also tended to disappear
So no one asked anymore.

Do you like black humor? These days it seems to be all the kind there is. Ever have the bank made a mistake, not in your favor? Many don't keep track of what's what until it may be too late.

Write a story or poem about what happens when your account is frozen shut and? It's the bank's fault. Make the title of your work "The Message"

Make one of the genres of Comedy.
