Never again?
Candies, ribbons, wrapping paper, decorations, lights
Ham, dressing, fruit salad, pumpkin pie, cranberry sauce
Running upstairs, downstairs in every store in town
I'm in no hurry, but all I find is people rushing all about
Season's greetings to all who dare be out tonight
Tree all covered in tinsel and garland with gifts underneath
Making cookies to eat and hot chocolate to ease the chills
Across the snow foot prints deep and wide are showing
Strangers in the yard are singing Christmas carols gleefully

Standing in the long lines' hour after hour hungry and sore
Hoping that someone will give up and step from their place
Over and over, year after year a family shops together again
Parking is nothing but a day of nightmares that never ends
Packages spill here and there, no one stops to help you
Icicles hanging there dangerously from rooftops and trees
Nothing says Merry Christmas like trying to find a special toy
Growing sleepy is a certain dream far away and never-ending
