Will we ever learn?
History certainly repeats itself;
Time and time again.
People wanting a better life -
To escape their shackling chains.

Doesn't our Statue of Liberty
claim in it's historical verse -
Give me your huddled masses -
It wasn't just a discourse.

All of us at one time,
Our ancestors were immigrants.
Where do we get off telling others
No entry - to those innocent?

I have no solution,
Perhaps other than this;
That we stop thinking of ourselves -
Sharing with others this freedom's bliss.
