A contest entry based on a spoof of a Peter Capaldi Doctor Who episode of the same name.
From all appearances, I was alone, but a sixth sense told me I wasn't. Some presence was nearby. The new home I just moved into seemed to be off in a way I could not place. As I began to unpack, I heard whispers just on the edge of my hearing. They seemed to come from everywhere and yet from nowhere at once.

It was late, so I undressed and took a shower. When I got out the mirror on the wall seemed to hold some sort of reflection at a depth I couldn't quite comprehend. I somehow knew that some being was trying to reach out to me.

Feeling both exhausted and scared, I climbed into bed telling myself I just needed sleep. I dreamed I was in my home, but everything was more. An entirely new spectrum of dimension was at play. It was as if I was a 2D drawing lifted from my piece of paper into the real world of 3D. I heard the voices clearly now. I woke up in a cold sweat and a sense of foreboding, vaguely recalling a dire warning. Now it's too late as I'm now trapped among those poor souls.
