"Time spent amongst trees is never wasted time." - Katrina Mayer
'Say Trees', the photographer urged
But we were already grinning
We'd spent the day digging, planting
And we'd just placed the 100th sapling.

Being in the soil, amidst the greenery
Breathing the air, fresh and pure
Our cares and worries had melted away
"Hug a tree" should be a prescribed cure.

Oxygen to soothe the lungs,
Green to soothe the eyes
The touch of wood to calm the skin
With feel-good hormones on the rise.

We'd experienced them all that day
And the joy of working as a team
The energy, the vibes, the glow
Felt like a glorious dream

Leaves that rustle in the breeze
And shade us from the sun
Fruits that nourish and delight
Trees are loving, trees are fun.

They hold the soil, they shield the earth
From storms and climate change
If you just give trees a chance
You'll see what they can re-arrange!

Plant a tree, climb a tree
Lean against the trunk so strong
Hug a tree, befriend a tree
Hum the tree's eternal song.

Trees are loving, trees are kind
Trees are our friends and family too
Preserve them please don't cut them down
You love them, and they love you!
