It grew brighter and brighter
It hit hard.
It hit fast.
Billowing out from a casual touch of skin.
It grew from a faint yellow at that first touch.
The heat was only enough to bring us back to each other.
Orange as our fingers reached out to twine together.
Not yet sufficient for hearts to scorch.
But the right amount for hearts to pah pum and skin to glow.
Then it became red.
A scarlet red that took the breath away and left us with no choice as the flame grew white hot and demanded space to explore, to shred all barriers.
To leave nothing but — us.
