Trauma is a terrible thing.
Lone star in the sky so bright, will you be my guiding light? To fight against the trauma I hold in my heart, attempting to tear me apart.

It's been a rough ride, surfing on this tide. One in a storm, worn me out cold. I'm not sure if I can take much more.

Looking ahead, it's a troublesome climb, but I have to try and try and try. Get to the top, look along the horizon, notice the sea this time not commanded by Posidon.

Calming waters, gentle breeze, a welcome reprieve from what was once received. A new day is dawning, but I'm not sure I'm ready, I hope things will be steady.

Sun arises, warm and aglow, saying yes, take it slow, I will be your guiding flow. One step at a time.

I descend this mountain filled with pain and turmoil, feet landing on dry soil. Deep breath in, deep breath out, there's no reason to shout.

The pain may still be inside, but I'm taking it one day at a time. I'm allowed to have days filled with trauma and others filled with beautiful fauna.
