Rap about misaligned modern values (day 3 of rap challenge)
Misaligned values, we say that it's inevitable
We're wired modern, my social's digital media
Did you see his pad? Don't even have a house in my name
Smiling photos, spouses, and kids - which I'm too lame to claim
News blames the stranger, but merit system says it's my own
Should've tried harder to be born wealthy, though I'm not really broke
If only money went further, I'll think while buying my gas
This ain't an emergency, so why am I driving so fast?

So let's intentionally slow, I need to see something new
Outside myself, need time to broaden my view
Someone found joy in crystal rain on a coast
Your photo cannot catch it, your friends don't see a post
Take time to care for other's triumphs and sorrows
Uplifting isn't a skill relegated to the likes of Marvel
Meet sojourning eyes with warmth, avoid the self-pity snare
Countless graces in your veins were wrought, it takes skill to own the life you've got,
Take on such radical values if you dare
