An Artist Is

According to Google, an artist is someone who paints or draws as their profession or hobby. It goes further into the creative field such as a sculpture and a musician.

Okay, I learned that in school too. But what is an artist? Someone who has a creative mind and uses a form of creative outlet, for example clay or wood or music or paper, to express themselves. This really broadens what kind of things an artist could do, which is practically anything. Including baking cakes. Have you seen a cake look like a car? It happened.

Now to go back to the Google definition of artist. Usually painters come into mind when we speak of artist. There are famous painters out there that has many imitators. Bob Ross is a recent one who could do a painting in 30 minutes. Traveling seems to be an important part of an artist's life too. He traveled for ideas.

Music artists makes music. There are also artists who writes. So don't ignore the complete picture of what an artist is. Read further. It might surprise you. Have fun and be creative!
