A poem about reminiscing and it's darker side effects
It's like dad's fishing stories
about the ones that got away.
Simple tales of times mistakes
and a thousand yesterdays.
The bit of dust from what once was
gets caught in your eye,
as every mistake and road not taken
drifts slowly by.
It's like dad's fishing stories
It just grows and grows so tall
Till you wonder how you fought this monster
and ever lived at all.
