A poem about a short-term romance that faded.
I Wonder

I saw the starvation,
like a well left uncovered,
Unmarked in a field.
Dangerous and careless.

For that,
I am sorry.

Really, it was not my place,
I saw a need and filled it with
What I had on hand.
It wasn’t much, but then again,
Neither were you.
