Inspired by "The Raven" by Edgar Allan Poe
Haunted eyes so beady and sure
such cold wicked delight
A stare so utterly pure
smooth feathers black as night

A shadow of creatures before
that visited in days past
And gently taunted me
with all the spells they cast

You are just a bird
though your soul's akin to mine
You show your feelings without a word
a communication so fine

You twitch your head so slightly
and open your pointed beak
Your intentions echo into the air
but then you do not speak

You ruffle yourself stoutly
and then away you fly
Whatever you wanted to say
fades in murky sky.
