He had messy blonde hair and a grubby tee
I saw him, but he did not see me
Hands on hips, he was looking out over the valley

Later we met and he smoothed down his hair
He talked loud, while I was quiet on my chair
We played cards with my folks for a while together

This memory is clear as yesterday, though 35 years have since come and gone away
