The long road to liberation
freedom
is a distant province
the path worn and
fraught

gaze upon the horizon
with jaded eyes
and shuffle each foot
in front of the other
the eagle's call
a siren's song
that each step falls to

with each weary stride
the winds of change are
singing me home

singing me home
