Come and join me as I travel through life...
There is not a cloud in the pale blue sky,
Nor is there a bird.
The grass that was once Luxurious green has died.
There are no trees out here on the plains,
And no sound except for my own footsteps.
But even they sound far away.
The silence is maddening if you’re not strong,
But I have been alone for so long,
So I don’t need others.
But that’s alright,
I have myself for company, as well as me and I.
Together we walk the road,
And together we have conquered our fears.
There is not a cloud in the pale blue sky,
And the hot sun beats relentlessly down.
I walk a lonely road,
But I have no need to frown.
For my journey although long,
And with its own dangers and obstacles,
Has brought me joy.
I cannot hear or see others as they pass,
But I know that they are there,
As I feel their shadows pass me by.
There is not a cloud in the fiery orange sky,
As the sun droops towards the west.
I contemplate what I have passed,
And wonder of what lies ahead.
As darkness creeps across the landscape,
Blackening all around,
Sleep overcomes me,
And I lay my head to rest.
