I wrote this about two years ago. It's a poem to me while I was battling some depression
Open your heart to me
Why are you so closed-

Your thoughts always swimming
Through bad and good

Why doesn't your body move anymore
As it always lay in one spot

Hurting your back and soul
The weight is heavy

As it pushes on your mind
Then your head pounds day and night

Why do you keep going for the pills?
Do they even work?
Or is it your mind telling you they do

It's best to open up
No matter what

So please, for yourself
Be set free
